Partnership agreement renewed in Norway

The Federation of Norwegian Professional Associations (Akademikerne) has renewed its partnership agreement with Danske Bank for three additional years. The new agreement will enter into force on 1 January 2019.

“Akademikerne constitute one of Norway’s most sought-after client portfolios, and a particularly valuable partnership agreement for Danske Bank. Akademikerne’s decision to prolong the existing partnership makes us both glad and proud. ”

- Trond F. Mellingsæter, Country Manager, Danske Bank Norway

Important growth lever
Since the initiation of the partnership agreement in 2015, the on-boarding of new Akademiker customers has considerably contributed to the solid growth in the bank’s Norwegian retail banking segment.

The renewal of the partnership agreement is important for Danske Bank both in Norway and on a Group level. Akademikerne’s renewed trust in our partnership confirms that our substantial efforts over that past three years have created value for both parties. It also emphasises that we are ready to take the partnership to the next level, both on a local and Nordic level.

Thanks to close collaboration throughout the first years of the partnership, Danske Bank has gained solid insight on how to best service the members of Akademikerne.

“We are well prepared to further develop and reinforce the efforts in order to develop an even better offer for this important customer group. The agreement has helped put us on the map in Norway and we are really looking forward to bringing all the experiences into a new period,” Mellingsæter adds.

The Federation of Norwegian Professional Associations is a national trade union confederation representing professionals with a higher education. It was formed in 1997 and represents 203 000 individual members from 13 member organisations.
