Georg Schubiger resigns as Chief Operating Officer

Company Announcement No 5/2012

Georg Schubiger is leaving his position as Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Executive Board of Danske Bank no later than at the end of July 2012 to take a new job as a member of the Group Executive Management of Vontobel Group, a Swiss bank. Georg Schubiger wishes to return to Switzerland after 12 years abroad.

Georg Schubiger joined Sampo Bank Plc in Finland in 2002 and became part of the Danske Bank Group when it acquired Sampo Bank in 2006. Since 2010, as Chief Operating Officer, he has been a member of the Danske Bank Group’s Executive Board, with responsibility for Group Business Development, Group Operations, Group IT, Group Marketing and Group Procurement.

“It has been a great pleasure to work at the Danske Bank Group,” says Georg Schubiger, “and through the years I have appreciated the close cooperation with my talented colleagues. After a fairly long time abroad, I am now returning to my native country, and I look forward to my new challenges at the Vontobel Group.”

“It is always difficult to lose a capable staff member,” says Danske Bank CEO Eivind Kolding, “but I understand Georg’s decision. He has worked very hard to ensure that Danske Bank today is one of the most innovative banks in Scandinavia, among other things, and I would like to take the opportunity to thank Georg for his great effort and to wish him good luck in his future endeavours.”

Georg Schubiger will continue with his current responsibilities until he resigns no later than at the end of July. The Group has not yet made a decision on a possible successor to Georg Schubiger.
