Danske Bank adjusts its organisation and reduces the number of roles by 106

Danske Bank is making 106 positions redundant, around half of them in Denmark. The employees affected have been informed today.

Danske Bank is continuing its work on the Forward ’28 strategy and on creating a simpler, more efficient and competitive bank focused on its customers’ needs. This means that the bank continuously invests in and strengthens selected areas while adapting the organisation in other parts of the bank across business units and countries.

This currently means that 106 positions will be redundant. Around half of the affected positions are in Denmark, while positions in Finland, Lithuania, Norway, Poland and Sweden are also affected. No customer-facing positions will be made redundant.

There are various reasons for the redundancies across the organisation. In some areas, the bank is bringing capabilities together or simplifying processes and the organisational setup. In other areas, major projects have been completed as planned or tasks, priorities and staffing needs have changed.

“We continue to develop Danske Bank to meet evolving customer expectations, strengthen our competitiveness and deliver on our Forward '28 strategy ambitions. This means continuously simplifying the organisation, investing in new capabilities and shifting resources to the areas where we create the greatest value for our customers. This is a natural part of running and developing a large company.

At the same time, we are very aware that decisions like these affect people. For colleagues who are impacted, this is a difficult situation. That is why it is important that we manage these changes responsibly and provide the support and respect our colleagues deserve throughout the process,”
says Karsten Breum, Chief People Officer at Danske Bank.

All employees whose positions are directly affected by today’s announcement have been informed. Danske Bank will support the affected employees during the coming period. They will have access to job matching and internal vacancies during their notice period. Most affected employees will also be offered the opportunity to participate in an outplacement programme focused on supporting their opportunities outside the bank.
