A record high number of employees contribute to a good cause

36,456. That is the number of hours employees from Danske Bank across borders have used on supporting a good cause in 2023 through the Group's corporate volunteering programme Time2Give. The programme gives employees the opportunity to volunteer three days a year.

Danske Bank employees are passionate about making a difference to customers and the societies the bank is part of.

In 2023, almost 4,500 employees took advantage of the opportunity to work voluntarily for e.g. Muskelsvindfonden, Red Cross Copenhagen and Børneulykkesfonden. The number of working hours is estimated to be worth more than DKK 7 million.

Christina Simov Bergquist, Senior Creative Manager volunteered together with colleagues for the organisation Ventilen working to combat loneliness among young people. The Danske Bank volunteers created a valuable strategy for Ventilen to reach their target audience, alongside developing a core story and different creative material.

“Ventilen is grateful for our help, which makes a huge difference for a small organisation like them, and we look forward to continuing the collaboration. It was also truly inspiring to see colleagues coming together for a cause that is close to our hearts. We used our professional skills in the best way possible, and we are proud of what we achieved in a very short time”, Christina says.

While the voluntary programme makes a big difference in the organisations that the employees contribute to according to an externally conducted study from 2023, there is also an effect of voluntary work internally:

”For the colleagues who participate, surveys indicate that the experience has contributed to an increased sense of pride, motivation, and team spirit. I am also immensely proud when our partner organisations again and again highlight how much they value our contribution. It is a true win-win for Danske Bank and the organisations that we support”, says Head of Corporate Volunteering , Ea Elisabeth Fabricius Wederwang.
