Become a Danske Bank customer in just a few minutes with our new app

Becoming a Danske Bank customer should be easy. Which is why Danske Bank is now launching its ‘Become a customer’ app, making it possible to become a customer in just a few minutes – 100% digitally.

Mobile in a hand

With the new ‘Become a customer’ app and just a few taps on your mobile phone, you can register as a Danske Bank customer and gain access to a number of Danske Bank’s products, such as an account and a payment card, quickly and easily.

“We want to make the process of becoming a customer with us as simple and straightforward as possible, to the benefit of our new customers. We also know that convenience and accessibility are important for our customers, and we are constantly working to improve the customer experience. Our new ‘Become a customer’ app makes becoming a Danske Bank customer easy and convenient – and not least quick,” explains Mark Wraa-Hansen, Head of Personal Customers, Denmark.

The new ‘Become a customer – Danske Bank’ app is available in App Store and Google Play, and is aimed at personal customers aged over 27 who live in Denmark and have MitID. Those aged 18-27 or students under the age of 32 have to use a special digital self-service solution for young adults and students on Danske Bank's website.

An important step in Danske Bank’s strategy
Danske Bank being able to welcome new customers through its digital front door is vital and a core element of the Forward ’28 strategy. The new digital entrance to Danske Bank is a huge step forward, and in part builds on the positive experiences from our digital self-service solution for young adults and students, which Danske Bank launched earlier this year.

“The app will initially operate in parallel with our other solutions for becoming a customer. However, as the area matures, we expect an increasing number of customers to use the new digital front door – both as a 100% self-service solution and in parallel with an advisory process,” says Mark Wraa-Hansen.

Some customers will need to consult an adviser in parallel with the onboarding process via the ‘Become a customer’ app, for example customers who are buying a home, who have transferred a pension scheme or have other banking requirements of a more complex nature. In such cases, the ‘Become a customer’ app functions as a quick and efficient solution after the customer has talked to an adviser, as it handles a lot of the paperwork and ensures a good customer experience.

The ‘Become a customer’ app is the first concrete result of the collaboration with fintech provider Backbase, which Danske Bank announced on 11 January 2024: Danske Bank will enhance the digital customer experience with a new platform.

A collaborative venture aimed at giving Danske Bank’s customers the best digital customer experience and the latest innovative solutions.
